We Make High Quality, Custom Dresses
Built Exactly For You
Booking an appointment ensures you have one-to-one time with a dedicated tailoring consultant in a private, relaxed space. Whether you are preparing for business, a wedding, or a special occasion, we tailor the process around you.
How It Works
Consultation & Style Discussion
- The process begins with a personal consultation between the tailor and the client.
- The tailor discusses:
- The client’s lifestyle, preferences, and intended use (business, formal, casual, etc.)
- Style choices (single vs. double-breasted, lapel shape, trouser cut, pocket styles, etc.)
- Fabric selection — from a wide range of luxury cloths (wool, cashmere, linen, silk blends, etc.)
- Details such as linings, buttons, stitching color, and personalization options (e.g., monograms).
Measurements & Style Consultation
- Dozens of precise body measurements are taken — typically 20–30 points — to capture posture, shoulder slope, chest shape, arm length, waistline, and more.
- The tailor also studies the client’s stance and movement to ensure the garment complements natural body shape.
Pattern Drafting & Fabric Cutting
- A unique paper pattern is drafted by hand based on the client’s measurements — no two patterns are alike.
- This pattern becomes the blueprint for the garment and can be kept for future commissions.
- The chosen fabric is hand-cut using the paper pattern.
- Each piece (front, back, sleeves, collar, lapels, etc.) is carefully aligned to maintain fabric grain, pattern matching (like stripes or plaids), and symmetry.
First Fitting – The Baste Fitting
- The pieces are temporarily stitched together with loose “baste” threads.
- This first fitting allows the tailor to assess:
- Overall balance and proportion
- Fit through shoulders, chest, waist, and seat
- Lengths of jacket and trousers
- Adjustments are noted and the garment is taken apart for refinements.
Second & Subsequent Fittings
- After alterations, the garment is reassembled for a second fitting.
- Details like sleeve pitch, collar fit, and drape are refined.
- Occasionally, a third fitting may follow for perfection.
Finishing & Handwork
- Once the fit is approved, the garment is finished by hand, including:
- Hand-sewn buttonholes
- Pick stitching along lapels and edges
- Canvas construction (no fusing) for structure and breathability
- Precise pressing and shaping
